Ex-Ga. Senator Sam Nunn Says VP Spot "Improbable"

Former U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn says it's "highly improbable" that Barack Obama would select him as a running mate.

But the conservative Democrat from Georgia didn't rule out accepting the No. 2 spot. Speaking Tuesday to reporters in Atlanta after a forum on encouraging Americans to volunteer, Nunn said he'd have to give the issue serious thought if Obama asked.

Nunn's name has been in circulation recently as a possible running mate for Obama. Nunn is widely believed to have national security experience that Obama is lacking. He recently endorsed Obama.
