Mothers Day Tornados Claim 3rd Victim

A woman injured critically after tornadoes ripped through the state last weekend has died.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Lisa Clements died Friday afternoon at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon after being found six days earlier amid the rubble of her mobile home in Dublin. Her husband, Tracey, died in the Mother's Day storm.

The severe storm system spawned 15 tornadoes as it moved across the state beginning early last Sunday morning. The storms caused $125 million in damage and prompted Governor Sonny Perdue to declare a state of emergency in 13 Georgia counties.

The severe weather also killed 19-year-old Astrid Hidalgo, who died when the top of a tree fell on her in Gwinnett County on Sunday afternoon.
