Al Sharpton Coming To Macon To Support Convicted Pastor |
|
The Reverend Al Sharpton will be in Macon Tuesday in support of Pastor
Onslow D. Ross of the Reaching Souls Cathedral of Praise Apostolic Church.
Ross is facing 60 years in prison and millions of dollars in fines after being found guilty on over 50 counts relating to the misuse of a $389-thousand dollar insurance check. A press release from the church Monday says Sharpton will be "conducting a press conference and rally to deal with local issues and how to better the lives of the citizens in the Macon/Bibb Co. communities, as well as the aggressive malicious prosecution and investigations of Afro-American Churches in the Macon area." Sharpton's appearance is open to the public and admission is free. The event will begin at 7pm Tuesday at the church located at 5555 Bethesda Avenue in Macon. |
