Tornados Damaged 7 Macon Area Warning Sirens |
|
Ironically, the Mother's Day tornadoes that swept across Georgia damaged
seven of Bibb County's warning sirens.
Fortunately, the sirens worked well enough to get a lot of people to safety. Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency Director Johnny Wingers says dozens, maybe hundreds, of lives were saved because of the early warning. Wingers says officials are checking the sirens to see what must be done
to fix them. |
