Medical Center Looks To Get Indigent Care Funds Restored

The Medical Center of Central Georgia may see money for indigent care be restored to their budget.

Bibb County Commissioners Wednesday are discussing putting the $2-million dollars, that was cut last summer to cover medical costs for the poor, back into MCCG's budget.

The funds were diverted from the Medical Center to be used for a new countywide property revaluation.

MCCG CEO Don Faulk says the hospital expects to spend close to $22-million dollars this year on indigent patient care in Bibb County.
