Six year old Richard Kearbey was playing in an above-ground swimming pool Wednesday morning when his 14-year old baby sitter went back into the house to attend to a crying baby. The sitter told police when she came back outside, she found the boy unconscious in the pool.

The sitter and a neighbor tried to revive the child with CPR until paramedics arrived. He was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where he was pronounced dead.

The case remains under investigation, however Crawford County Coroner Allen O'Neal says the drowning appears to have been an accident.
