Macon Duplex Fire Ruled As Arson

Macon-Bibb County authorities are ruling a duplex fire Monday night as arson.

Firefighters responding to the blaze at the residence at 4258 Irving Avenue around 10:00pm Monday.

Investigators say a two-gallon spray bottle containing a flammable substance fell from the roof of the duplex as firefighters were hosing down the fire. Once the fire was put out, investigators found gasoline poured throughout an adjacent duplex. Both units are reported to belong to the same owner who currently lives in New York. Neither duplex was occupied.

Authorities say they do have suspects in the alleged arson, but so far no arrests have been made.
