State Tax Holiday "On" For Energy,Water Efficient Products

The four annual Georgia Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday began at 12:01am Thursday and will continue until 11:59pm Sunday night.

During this period, products carrying the ENERGY STAR label as well as WaterSense labeled products are exempt from the State Sales and use tax. 

ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

WaterSense helps consumers to identify water-efficient products and programs. The WaterSense label indicates will indicate that these products and programs meet water efficiency and performance criteria. WaterSense labeled products will perform well, help save money and encourage innovation in manufacturing. For additional information on WaterSense, log onto::

The sales tax exemption is intended only for individuals and their personal use.  It does not apply to purchases made for resale, purchases by businesses, items leased or rented, or items sold at sports facilities, theme parks, restaurants, public lodging establishments and airports.
