Burglary Suspect Arrested On Thumbprint Evidence

Macon Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the burglary of a Macon furniture store last week.

37-year old Lorenzo Floyd is being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center in connection with the burglary at the Farmer's Furniture store on Mercer University Drive last Thursday morning around 5:20am.

Investigators at the scene said they found traces of human flesh and blood near the broken front window of the store. The skin was identified as a human finger pad with identifiable ridges still intact. The print was then run through a database where a match came back for Floyd.

When Floyd was brought in for questioning, police said he had an injury to his right thumb that matched the flesh found at the scene.
