Eric McCormack and Janet Leigh Holden McCormack have officially finalized their divorce, two years after separating in November 2023. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE show the couple reached a private settlement outside of court. Brazilian social media influencer Barbara Jankavski, known as the “Human Barbie” for undergoing 27 plastic surgeries, died over the weekend at age 31. Police in Sao Paulo reported that 51-year-old public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto told investigators he and Jankavski took illicit substances together on Nov. 2. Peter Sarsgaard and Rob Delaney joined the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ Road House 2. Their roles have not been revealed. The sequel stars Jake Gyllenhaal, returning as former UFC fighter and bouncer Dalton. The film, directed by Ilya Naishuller from a script by Will Beall, is being shot across the U.K., Malta, and Georgia. The first reboot reached 80 million viewers in eight weeks in 2024. (Story URL)
Nearly half of LGBTQ characters on TV will not return next season, according to GLAAD’s “Where We Are on TV” report. The 2025 study counted 489 LGBTQ characters across all platforms, up from 468 last year. However, more than 200 characters, or 41 percent, will disappear due to cancellations, series endings, or limited runs. Another 96 characters, about 20%, remain on shows awaiting renewal. (Story URL)
Carol Burnett has created the Carol Burnett Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. The scholarship will support “high-potential undergraduate students in the school’s Ray Bolger Musical Theater Program,” according to the university.
