Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj’s 2012 single “Beauty and a Beat” has reached No. 1 on the Global 200 after a new wave of interest tied to Bieber’s April 11 Coachella performance.
A music chart update released Monday showed the song at the top of the worldwide ranking, which measures major songs through sales and online streaming activity across more than 200 territories.
During the Coachella set, Bieber played YouTube clips of several older hits and sang along with them. “Beauty and a Beat” was among the songs featured, helping drive renewed attention to the track more than a decade after its original release.
The song appeared on Bieber’s album Believe and originally reached No. 6 on the Hot 100 in 2012. It now gives Bieber his third No. 1 on the Global 200, following “Stay” with The Kid LAROI and “Peaches” with Daniel Caesar and Giveon.
Another older track also returned to the chart’s upper tier. Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” moved to No. 8, boosted by renewed attention around the upcoming Michael biopic.
