KPop Demon Hunters is getting closer to one of the biggest records on Billboard’s Top Soundtracks chart. The animated film’s soundtrack has now spent 54 weeks at No. 1, putting it within reach of the current record holder, Moana.
The latest chart milestone places KPop Demon Hunters second among soundtracks with the most weeks at No. 1 since the ranking began in 2001. Moana remains on top with 62 weeks, giving it an eight-week advantage.
Animated films have a particularly strong presence among the chart’s longest-running leaders. Frozen, Frozen II and Encanto are also among the soundtracks that have accumulated lengthy stays at No. 1.
Other major titles on the all-time list include The Greatest Showman, Barbie: The Album, A Star Is Born, High School Musical and Twisters: The Album.
For now, Moana still owns the record. But the continued chart performance of KPop Demon Hunters has brought it significantly closer to the benchmark.
